Pokémon legends: Arceus presents a new turn on Shiny hunt that should make some Pokémon players very happy. The new Pokémon game, which came out today, presents the return of Mass Outbreaks, a characteristic of the game in which a specific species of Pokémon appears in a given area of the game for a prolonged period of time. While the massive outbreaks appeared in previous Pokémon games, these new massive buds come with an intriguing peculiarity: they have an improved glitter rate.
The massive buds are periodic events that occur in each of the five regions of the random game. When JubiLife Village leaves, the players are informed that a massive outbreak is taking place. Then, players can see what region (or regions) has a massive outbreak and what Pokémon appears in that massive outbreak. When a player chooses to enter a region with a massive outbreak, you can see the exact place of the massive outbreak on the map. From what we can say, there is no time limit for a massive outbreak: a player can choose to visit the massive outbreak as long as he does not return to Retirest Village first.
When a player visits a massive outbreak, he will initially see a handful of Pokémon of the same species that appear in nature. A emerging legend will inform you that they have discovered the massive outbreak, and players can try to capture or fight against the wild Pokémon as they would with any other Pokémon. After a massive outbreak Pokémon has been captured or defeated, another Pokémon of that same species will appear immediately in the same area. From what we have experienced, a massive outbreak will produce between 10 and 15 Pokémon that coincide with the levels of other wild Pokémon found in that general area.
While we do not know the exact bright rates for a massive outbreak, there is definitely there seems to be an increased rate of some kind. A NPC in Jubilife Village mentions having seen a "Pokémon of different colors" that appeared during a massive outbreak, and personally we find brilliant Pokémon in two different mass outbreaks. Shiny Pokemon can not only be identified by its color, but also through a special icon that appears on the Pokémon and a sound effect that sounds when the Pokémon appears on the screen.
It is likely that it does not happen long until we know Shiny's exact rates for the massive shoots, but meanwhile, we hope you enjoy taking refuge and trapping some Pokémon in the new game.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is now available for Nintendo Switch.
