Destiny 2 is finally talking about the future of the PVP - 4 new maps

Very long time prevailed Bungie just silence about the future of the PVP VonDestiny 2. Now the studio talked about his future plans for the melting pot and what the players expect in foreseeable time.

Actually, one expected that there will be substantial new information on the future of Destiny 2 only with the upcoming idea of the witch queen extension on 24th August. But in the middle of the week there was now completely unexpected news on a controversial topic, which has been spoken by the official site unfortunately only very rare for quite some time - the PVP.

That says Bungie for the future of the PVP

Where does the info come from? For a long time weighs a lot of guardians, the PVP in Destiny 2 is neglected, does not get enough love and attention. So many one is even thinking, bungie would have abandoned the mode. Now there was finally a sign of life again.

In a series of tweets, Joe Blackburn, the Assistant Game Director of the game, spoke about the crucible, and introduced a coarse timetable for the next Seasons - until well into the year 2022.

He assured that competitive modes are an integral part of Destiny 2 and make the game special. The ultimate goal is that players constantly receive new cards and modes every year. In the first half of 2021, there were plenty of time to create the basis for the future of the PVP (Stasis-Nerfs, Meta-Shift, etc.), in the second half, the teams turn to fresh maps and modes. Here is an overview of the plans:

This comes in Season 15: The next season, Season 15, starts on 24th August. Be there

  • Three-Beijing defused
  • And the trials of Osiris are polished (more info should be on 24.08.

This comes in Season 16: The Season 16 will start hand in hand with the new big extension "Witch Queen" and return 2 old Destiny 2 maps from the Destiny Content Vault. Which cards are this is not yet known, but the following 8 are rotated with Beyond Light from the game in the content safe:

  • Meltdown
  • Solitude
  • Retribution
  • The Citadel
  • Emperor's Respite
  • Equinox
  • Eternity
  • Firebase echo
  • Gambler's Ruin
  • Legion's Gulch

Incidentally, Blackburn emphasized that it does not even be just beginning to bring back these cards (and also modes) - even if they are actually from Destiny 2. With the release of Beyond Light, an update of the engine goes hand in hand, the port of old maps on this engine requires a lot of work, the whole thing happens in hand work.

This comes in Season 17: In Season 17, a brand new crucible card should follow - from one of the newer locations we have not seen in the PVP so far. More information was not available.

This comes in Season 18: The Season 18 will introduce a returning card from Destiny 1. Again, there was no indications or hints, which map it could act.

This comes in 2022: Bungie also works on the following things, which will sometime in 2022 (so far no more detailed time) to find your way into the game:

  • The PVP mode "RIFT" from Part 1 should come to Destiny 2. There everything revolves around a spark that you can grab and get into the enemy Rift.
  • Several brand new modes for the PVP. Here you do not want to spoils.
  • After the dust of the trial update laid in Season 15, you want to look at what other areas of the PVP ecosystem requires further systematic improvements. You plan to publish something from the caliber of said trials-rework from Season 15 for the PVP.

Also interesting:
