Granblue Fantasy: versus
Granblue Fantasy: Versus was developed by ARC System Works and is based on the popular mobile RPG series of Cygames. Key figures like Katalina, Percival, Gran, etc. are known here in the elegant animated style, known for the ARC. The main difference between this and the other battle games of the developer are skybound arts, techniques that can be triggered with a push of a button, but have loading times. There is also an RPG mode that acts as Side Scrolling RPG and beat them with objects, upgrades and action points. The absence of a rollback net code is not the best news for multiplayer mode, but Granblue Fantasy: versus is still worth being played.
Schuldige Equipment Strive
Guilty Gear Strive has been revealed with the perhaps coolest title song for a fighter for a long time and aims to optimize many aspects of the series. You still have standard novels, but for the most part is a simplified system with user-friendly ratings to help new players. This is undoubtedly the most great fighters of ARC System Works. Since characters like May, Faust and Chip change significantly, there is a lot to expect. Guilty Gear Strive is expected to be released at the end of 2020 for PS4.
One-Punch Man: A hero nobody knows
The adaptation of an established manga property is difficult, even if it is a fighting game genre with all its Budokais and Ninja storms. As a 3-counter-3 arena fighter, Spike Chunsoft's One-Punch Man has a hero that nobody knows, possibly the most robust gameplay or the most robust graphics. However, it knows exactly what it is, and introduces a mechanic in which the protagonist Saitama appears late. He is strong enough to defeat each - except for himself - with a blow, but every team with Saitama must fight 2 against 3. It's fascinating when nothing else. One-Punch Man: A hero nobody knows, appears on February 28th and will be available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Under Night In-Birth Exe: Late [CL-R]
The underestimated anime fighter of the developer French bread was already a great game with slim 2D graphics and unique characters. The late [CL-R] brings hundreds of equilibrium changes, a new character Londekia with ice attacks and changes to the core list. It is currently available for PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The latter is a stand-alone version. For current owners of the game, Late [CL-R] will be a free update, although Londrekia requires a separate purchase. If you are looking for something that is fast and different from the current list of the fighters, it may be worthwhile to look at it (although the NetCode may still be hit or missed).
Project L.
The League of Legends Battle Game by Riot Games was published in October 2019, but is still far from the publication. We have a look at some heroes as Jinx, Ahri, Katarina and Darius thrown, and it is confirmed that RISING THUNDER RADIANT DETAINMENT is responsible for development. However, on the way to publishing, some things can change, from the user interface and core mechanics to the actual roster, so we can not draw conclusions. But with such a large roster and the probable recording of Rollback NetCode, Project L certainly has potential.
The king of the fighters XV
SNK announced on the Evo 2019 a new title in the series The King of Fighters ... and that's pretty much everything we know about it. For which platforms it will be published, which fighters will return - absolutely nothing was revealed. But it's king of fighters and that's reason enough to be excited.
Mighty Fight Federation
With fighter names like Billy Strikeist and Heckbane, the Mighty Fight Federation will not win prices for character design. Komi Games, 4-player Arena fighter is currently located at an early stage and offers a surprising depth. They deserve hype energy by sharing and receiving damage that can be used for a breaker - which represents an immediate reversal - and hype cancel to cancel trains and run longer combos. Again not the most extraordinary fighter out there, but still pretty convincing.
Mobile suit Gundam Extreme vs. Maxiboost
If you are looking for a virtual-like fighter with huge mechs, lasers and air fighting, mobile suit Gundam is extreme vs. Maxiboost on could be the ticket. Players focus on 2-counter-2 struggles with legend and write 183 Gundam units and can select one of three ex Burst systems to further confuse their style of play. Mobile suit Gundam Extreme vs. Maxiboost On is currently listed as shortly for the PS4.
The justice of my hero 2
Another 3D Arena Fighter, My Hero One's Justice 2, is a standard title in the genre. Returning rogues and heroes from the manga are here together with new Shie Hassaikai Arc characters. The payers can with their buddies 2-counter-2 battles with the wall, environmental destruction and super moves. The biggest change in the continuation is the endurance system that limits the number of wall runs, quick-steps and Dash breaks that you can run at the same time. Essentially, the continuation offers more of what the players liked the first game, and that's fine. JUSTICE 2 by My Hero One will be released on March 13 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Metal revolution
The Metal Revolution of Next Studios is a minimalist fighter with moves and combos that are easy to execute. The true championship is to parry the attacks of an opponent and to carry out counterattacks as they find the right opportunity to unleash their ultimate art. Nothing too complicated, but the cyberpunk aesthetics looks good. Metal Revolution provides a story mode, arena mode, training mode and many skins that can be activated with coins earned in the game. It will be released on 3 March for PC.
Strike planet
Punch Planet has been available at an early stage since November 2017 and offers some elegant 2D graphics in front of a science fiction backdrop. This means different alien races, strange planets, the works. The main stimulation of the game is the time interruption that players can effectively break out attacks, absorb and execute advanced combos. Of course you also have your standard super moves and the training mode offers functions such as frame data, display fields and record fields. While the functions are currently quite sparse - there is no story or arcade mode - Punch Planet looks promising.
