Star Ocean: The Divine Force was officially announced by Square Enix for PS4 and PS5 consoles at the October State of Play on PlayStation. The first opus of the franchise was released in 1996 and since then there were five main games, a derived game, as well as a mobile game.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the series and Star Ocean: The Divine Force is its last main title. It has been developed in collaboration with Tri-Ace and its official launch is already provided at a non-disclosed date in 2022.

The game offers a story mixing science fiction and fantastic, a rich range of characters and parallel stories, a combat system offering exhilarating fighting with easy controls, and more, confirmed Sho Ishida, representative of relations Square Enix public.

Star Ocean: The Divine Fore was part of a dozen games to get a trailer during the very awaited live presentation of State of Play. Although the first trailer of the title was extremely focused on the presentation of his gameplay, she also gave the Fans of Star Ocean an overview of the elements of the story.

As presented in the trailer of Star Ocean: The Divine Force, he will tell a story that is a combination of sci-fi and fantasy. It showed a list of different playable characters and their parallel stories, which seem to be pretty much similar to the predecessors of the game. However, unlike previous titles in the series, it looks like Star Ocean: The Divine Force puts more emphasis on Exploration, its characters with more mechanisms based on navigation, such as a Jetpack, to move on foot.

Star Ocean: The divine force will present two intertwined stories with two different protagonists. The first concerns a merchant ship captain from an advanced civilization. The second story, on the other hand, is centered on a princess from a fantastic-inspired planet that is underdeveloped.
